  6. Employ SiteMap.xml. It provides a listing of all of the pages on your site, and gives this information to search engines. SiteMap.xml is specifically for search engines; then there is SiteMap.html, which is for users. This allows search engines to crawl your site easily.
  7. Use robots.txt to designate portions of your web page that you do not want to be crawled by robots. This helps you to keep certain information private. It is particularly important to tag your customers’ personal information this way in order to keep it private.
  8. Check your website for errors using W3C validation. This validator will show you any errors on your page so that you can clean them up and allow search engines to crawl your site easily.
  9. Authenticate your website with Google Webmaster Tools. This free service gives you a code to confirm your website and helps you find errors in your site.
  10. Improve your site speed. Customers don’t want to wait for a website that takes too long to load, so if you want to keep visitors coming to your site, it is vital to make your site speed as fast as possible. You can improve your site speed by not using too many images, JavaScript, and unnecessary links.
  11. Meta Tags give information about your site to search engines, and they’re a great way to get information about your products to clients. Make your Meta Tags attractive and easy to understand in order to grab attention.
  12. Heading tags give structure to your website. They allow users and search engines to quickly and easily determine what your page is all about and increase your rankings in SERPs.
  13. Image Alt tags help search engines to understand your images. Use an ALT tag within the IMG tag to give a text translation of your image.
  14. Optimize your content. Include the price on the product page, as well as information about related products. Use bold keywords to show search engines which keywords are most important.
